History
In 1936, the Flusche brothers, Lawrence, Al, and Conrad “Coonie” Flusche purchased the gas station and the red brick “big building” behind it. Newspaper advertisements and records trace the beginning of their business to Christmas Eve of 1936, marking the start of a family enterprise that would become part of the fabric of the community.
1936
By December 7, 1941, historical photographs show the original gas station in operation. In 1945, the iconic showroom building with the large front glass windows was constructed. Photos from that time capture the building under construction, followed by images from 1946 featuring brand-new automobiles displayed proudly behind those showroom windows.
1941
The Flusche Brothers were more than automobile dealers, they were business innovators who adapted to changing times. They also served as Minneapolis Moline tractor dealers, with historic images showing tractors displayed outside alongside Ford, Moline and Flusche Brothers signage. Following World War II, the business transitioned from a Ford dealership to Pontiac/GMC.
After decades of serving the region, Al Flusche & Lawrence Flusche sold the business in 1982

If the bond passes, the NEST
